What Our Fathers Taught Us...

June 15, 2018

In celebration of Father’s Day this year, Hydradyne has compiled a list of valuable lessons that we have learned from our fathers or father figures in our lives. We are truly grateful and thankful for all the fathers, and the men in our lives, who have helped teach us and make us who we are today. We want to wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day weekend!

My father taught me to never quit. He always says, “If you start something, you need to see it through to completion.” – Doralee Santos

My father taught me to always work hard & be the best that I can be in everything that I do. I love you Dad!! – Tara Coxie

My father taught me that respect is earned, never given. You will earn respect when you put others before yourself, treat all others with the same respect you desire, and work hard and sacrifice to make life better for those you love. I don’t have to look far for a Hero, I have one and I call him dad. – Danny Wattigney

My father taught me to pass on knowledge to the next generation to honor those who passed the knowledge to you. – Jim Markum

My father taught me that being a man meant loving your wife and the children that you helped bring into this worls was your first priority. Leading by serving family members, helping with the chores, doing dishes, and changing “poopy” diapers, is a manifestation of service to God. I will be forever grateful for that quiet and consistent example. – David Treanor

My father taught me to love and respect my elders and to be kind to all. – Kathy Allen

My father taught me that if it doesn’t belong to you, don’t touch it. – Mark Manning

My father taught me too many things to list...He taught me to love life, be strong, and stay positive. “Life is a process of learning”, he would always say. He was my rock and always will be. – Edythe Prince

My father taught me that if it is worth doing, then it won’t be easy, or everyone would do it. – John Powell

My father taught me that there is nothing I cannot do if I decide to do it and apply myself. – Kevin Marquis

My father passed away when I was young, 12. He was a respected man and I had several men that stepped in when I obviously needed guidance. I had sold my first business right after getting married and was kind of lost trying to figure what to do. Bill Detyens Sr. was a friend of my father and after spending the afternoon with him one day working on his yacht, he left me with this...“Alan, find something you love to do. Go to work doing that and you will never have to work again.” Since then, I’ve seen it written and stated many times, however; none came across as powerful as that afternoon. I live by it and have recently joined the Hydradyne team. – Alan Sheppard

My father taught me that working hard for your family is the most honorable cause. – Nic Weaver

My father taught me about “Faith, Hope and Love. But the greatest of these is Love.” – Brooks Bishop

My father taught me that anything worth doing is worth doing well. – Jim Watson

My father taught me...To be a good brother. To be a good son. To be a good husband. To be a good father...And to be a bad Mother…...r. – Ryan Wingo

My father taught me that you can tell a lot about a person’s character based on how he or she respects his or her loved ones and elders. My dad was born and raised to treat everyone with respect, and he brought me up no differently. – Julie Cepeda

My father taught me how to be a fighter and never depend on any one person. He taught me to always have my own money set aside so that if anything should ever happen, I can take care of myself at any given time.” – Lisa Skelly
